The Sales Tax Institute, a division of Yetter Consulting Services, Inc., offers sales and use tax training courses focusing on the practical application of sales tax concepts. We are dedicated to educating business people about sales and use tax concepts and issues and how their companies can minimize their tax expense and administrative costs related to accurate compliance. In addition to our standard courses open to corporate and consulting professionals, we also offer online and customized training discussing sales and use taxes in general and specific issues related to your business. The training can be offered to individuals who handle the various aspects of sales and use tax determinations including sales, order entry, accounts receivable, purchasing, accounts payable, engineering and accounting.
The Sales Tax Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. It is also a Registered Public Accountant Continuing Professional Education Sponsor with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

E-STI: Sales Tax Concepts online - Introduction, Definitions & Nexus -- This self-study basic course is geared toward individuals who deal with sales and use tax issues as part of their responsibilities, but do not have a sales tax background or deal with sales tax in depth. Those who would benefit include individuals from general accounting, accounts payable, sales, purchasing and credit, in addition to general practitioners who would like a general understanding of sales tax concepts. This class does not require any advance preparation or prerequisites.

Participants could include individuals from general accounting, accounts payable, sales, purchasing and credit, in addition to general practitioners who would like a general understanding of sales tax concepts. Basics of Sales and Use Tax -- This three-day course is geared toward individuals with less than four years experience in the sales and use tax field. The course will discuss the constitutional basis for the tax, leading cases, tax basis and administration of the tax including collection and remittance procedures and audit defense. The format of the course will be a combination of lecture, case study and group discussion. It will also include industry specific sections. This course is geared toward individuals who need to learn the basic concepts on an in-depth level. This class does not require any advance preparation or prerequisites.

Advanced Sales and Use Tax Workshop -- This three day course is geared towards individuals who specialize in sales tax and are looking for a workshop forum to discuss emerging issues in sales and use tax. The workshop will offer in-depth discussions of current issues and the topics will vary between offerings of the course. The format of the course will be a presentation of the issue by the facilitator, followed by a in-depth discussion session by all participants. Participants should have an intermediate level of understanding of sales and use tax concepts and a basic understanding of all the topics scheduled for the course. This course qualifies for 23 hours of CPE. This class does not require any advance preparation. The prerequisite for this class is four years sales tax experience or equivalent.
